Saturday: 9:00 a. m. - 10:00 a. m.
Opening Address
An examination of "Practical Work on Self" to look for any bread crumb trails that we may find.

Saturday: 10:00 a. m. - 11:00 a. m
Awakening the Machine
"Because the sleeping machine cannot function as a transformational apparatus, the soul--which is solely and entirely a product of transformation--cannot form, and even if it could, without the foundation and "food" for evolution, it could not evolve. If we had the will to awaken the machine, only then could life have any meaning." Robbert Trice

Saturday: 11:00 a. m. - 12:00 a. m
Reflections on the Pond / Invocational Writing Circle
That is, Chapter Two of Practical Work on Self. We will compose  during this hour with a focus on the invocation of two states of the biological machine which are mutually exclusive: the state of reverberation of the machine "in reflex-response to disturbances in the mental centrum"; and the state of "opening the water" before the pebble, arriving where "the biological machine offers no resistance to the pebble and reverberations do not occur." (pp. 27, 25) Can we invoke together that state which is, if not generating real emotion, at least ready and open to it? Read the chapter, please, to prepare for this experiment. Results to be posted (we surmise) on canteen bulletin board. Nancy Burns & Iven Lourie

"Life, as we will come to understand it, is not a progression from the past to the future; it is an Eternal Return, an endless series of passages through, and at right-angles to, the life of the machine, in an effort to perfect it as a transformational apparatus by repeating this passage, eventually repairing it as a whole, higher-dimensional transformational apparatus by awakening the machine from conception to death." Marta Jones & Dru Kristel
