This campaign has been established as an ongoing effort to financially assist an individual whose name shall be withheld -- to protect her privacy. The goal of this emergency fundraiser is $56,000. This campaign will be ongoing until we have raised that amount for the benefit of this person whose life-threatening situation must be handled with compassion. The cost of surgery is approximately $16,000 followed by radiation and chemotherapy which are estimated to require another $40,000.

Because of this dramatic situation, friends have stepped in to assist her. We shall be seeking by all means possible to raise these funds.

Please be assured that, before deciding to undergo this physically and financially draining procedure, this brave individual tried every reasonable alternative at her disposal. This was not a light decision. Basically it came down to "do it or die". At this point financial considerations are secondary.

Because of the rapid doubling of her tumor, doctors recommended she proceed with haste.

It would have been so easy if only she had medical insurance. Why didn't she?   Well, bottom line, not everyone can afford medical insurance these days.

Her situation can be encapsulated thus. She spends her time helping the sick and the dying, putting the needs of others before her own. She has lived a life of devotion and service to others -- leaving little time for herself.

Those of us who know her love her deeply, and feel her as a valuable part of our lives. We don't want to lose her. We are doing what we can. We hope you also hear this cry and are able to respond to this plea for a special person.

No contribution is too big, nor is any contribution too small.
