The sun god of Heliopolis, called father of the gods, Ra once
ruled on earth during a golden age when men and gods could live together
happily. Each morning Ra, as the sun, rose in the east and set off across the
world to set in the west, eventually entering the realm of night and meeting
the powers of darkness. A nightly struggle ensued and when the sun
reappeared on the horizon, prayers of thankfulness were offered to the
triumphant Ra. Of cultured marble, goldleafed and hand detailed.
