Editorial
Inner Journeys is mailed to 2,500 or more bookstores, including several hundred outside the United States. We constantly add to our list new members of the American Booksellers Association (ABA); stores which send STOP orders to Gateways (for books by Dr. Claudio Naranjo, Robert de Ropp, E.J. Gold, and others); librarians; training centers of various kinds; and other publishing professionals. Many of these people have told us that they need any help they can get in navigating the waters of new book selection-and that more book reviews in fewer words will better serve their needs. We have no intention of taking over the territory of other publications in this field, such as New Age Retailer, NAPRA Journal, Moving Words-all excellent journals. A special tip of the hat to Small Press magazine and Hungry Mind Review, for high literary standards, and a thank you to ABA's Bookselling This Week newsletter for printing David Unowsky's excellent columns! Here at Inner Journeys, our idea is to add another voice to the mix, advocating the interests of independent booksellers, dedicated publishers, and, ultimately, those discerning readers we all hope to reach. We also decided to have the quarterly journal pay its way by accepting advertising from exactly those businesses served by Inner Journeys columns and news items: publishers of ideas.
