As Woo unslumped from a heap on the floor, the key phrase “tomorrow is the big day” was still reverberating in the air. Little Roy would still be downstairs, Ja Mere would be in Merika working with the cownsil and her mission to visit the dragons on behalf of the cownsil still awaited. Only now, she could not fool herself that this was a simple case of the world slowing down and gravity crushing everyone and everything on the planet. Whatever sigil Drak had used must have been keyed to phrase and location. Surely, she had said “tomorrow is the big day” some other time during the last decade?

This definitely smelled of Drak’s work — the characteristic blue-silver illuminecences. Not something that a student forgets about her teacher easily.

Picking herself up from the floor, Woo could tell by the night sky and her inner dragon sense that not more than twenty-two seconds of actual time flow had passed from the time she made her innocent remark about tomorrow and the present. Or was it the future. This future present seemed like the dream compared to her vision and remembrance of her college days — so vivid, so real. Memories of her first meeting with Drak that she hadn’t recalled in many years. In fact, she didn’t even recall it then.

“Why had this been suppressed from my memory for so many years? What could anyone hope to gain by keeping me in the dark about this?”

It the dressing table and vanity chair knew, they were keeping it to themselves — neither of them answered.

“Yes, tomorrow was going to be a bigger day then she thought.” Woo mused silently to herself and an uncommunicative table and chair.
